Original batik by Judy Flores. This is a depiction of the Leon Guerrero family home in Hagåtña. It was located in the barrio of Padre Palomo in east Hagåtña. The home had running water but no electricity. The bodega [bottom floor] had a high ceiling that enabled Justo's cousin who was a boxer, to install a punching bag there. The house lot also had an outdoor kitchen, an outside shower and an outhouse. The second floor of the house had a sink with running water. The house was situated across the street from an empty lot and the beach. His neighbors and playmates were the Tajalle's, Lujan's and the Perez siblings. The Padre Palomo district had 653 residents in 1940.
The batik is mounted and matted with acid free materials - size is 16.5" x 21"
